Payson Infelise- Non Calm Head Sailing Coach
Payson Infelise is a sunny Southern California native having grown up in Long Beach and completed a degree in Social Ecology from the University of California at Irvine. He has always felt the need to be close to the water with his first sail to Catalina coming at just two weeks old with sailing being a part of his life ever since. As soon as he was old enough Payson enrolled in ABYC’s junior sabot program and then moved to the U.S. Sailing Center to continue his double handed and high school sailing. Having sailed for LB Wilson HS and in college for UCI, Payson gained invaluable dinghy experience while also crewing on keelboats as much as possible. Which has lead him into a successful keelboat match racing career consisting of two US Match Racing National Championship victories, lots of success overseas, and including sailing events on the World Match Racing Tour. Payson started his coaching career in Sabots at ABYC and quickly moved south to Newport Beach having been involved in several programs in the bay including BCYC, BYC, and CDM HS and finally finding a home at NHYC and has enjoyed coaching here ever since. He is looking forward to fun, exciting, and successful years to come!
