Facing shifty winds averaging from 7-10 knots, occasionally gusting to 15, sailors in the 2008 Ahmanson Cup had the chance to test their mettle in classic Newport Beach spring conditions. Temperatures ranged from the low 60’s to the mid 70’s over the weekend, putting a premium on good layering and a nice sunny spot on the rail.

A new day broke over Newport Beach, and with it came a clean slate for all six teams. Scores from the prior triple round robin did not carry through, giving each team the chance to end up in the finals and walk away with the championship.
